How allied health staffing works

  1. Tell us what you needThe discipline, caseload, hours, client mix, province and start date.
  2. We verify registrationWe check with the provincial regulator before presenting a clinician.
  3. You review a short listCandidates see clinic and compensation model details first.
  4. Start and follow-upA contract, relief block or permanent role, with follow-up.

Allied health registration and oversight by province

Allied health professions are regulated provincially, and the regulator differs by profession. We check the right one for each clinician.

British Columbia

The College of Health and Care Professionals of BC regulates audiologists, dietitians, occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech-language pathologists, along with hearing instrument practitioners, opticians, optometrists and psychologists.

Other provinces and territories

Each profession has its own regulator, and names differ. The role pages for each profession carry the full list, and we confirm the right regulator with each candidate.

Good to know: Practice standards also cover things like the use of protected titles, advertising, records and consent. Clinics may bill public plans, insurers, workers' compensation boards or auto insurers, each with its own provider rules. We do not advise on billing. We do not currently place in Quebec.

Allied health staffing challenges we hear about

Caseload gaps

An unfilled physio or OT position leaves referrals waiting, so owners need coverage sooner.

Fit for the practice

Clinics want the right mix of experience, such as hand, vestibular, pediatric or neuro, rather than a general fill.

Contract service delivery

Long-term care and school programs need regular visits, and a clinician leaving can interrupt service.

Rural and small markets

Fewer applicants and longer searches.

Compensation models

Employee, contractor and fee-split arrangements differ, and candidates need clarity up front.

Coverage models for clinics and programs

For multi-site programs, ask about managed staffing programs.

For clinic owners and program managers

  • Verified registration
  • Screened for discipline and clinical focus
  • Terms in writing

For clinicians

  • See caseload, client mix, hours and the pay model (employee, contractor, percentage) before you commit
  • Free for candidates. Always.

Your profile is handled under PIPEDA and shared only with your consent.

How we are different

We verify registration

We verify registration and say so, with the understanding that it is a point-in-time check and not a guarantee.

We state fees and terms openly

Candidates pay nothing. We are paid by the clinic or program.

Allied health staffing questions

Which allied health professions do you place?

Physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, registered dietitians and respiratory therapists. Other roles can be discussed case by case. Tell us the discipline and the setting, and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

Can I work as a contractor instead of an employee?

That depends on the employer and the arrangement. We tell candidates how the role is structured before you agree. We do not give legal or tax advice, so check your own situation with a qualified professional before accepting any arrangement.

Does my registration transfer to another province?

No. You register with the regulator in the province where you practise. The process differs by profession, so we confirm the right regulator and the steps involved with each candidate before a move, and we tell employers what to expect.

Do you place clinicians into long-term care or schools?

Yes, through contract and visiting services where employers need them. These arrangements usually involve scheduled visits to a site, so we confirm the schedule, the caseload and the travel expectations with candidates before they commit to anything.

Does it cost clinicians anything to use your service?

No. Our service is free for candidates. Always. Clinics and programs pay fees, which are agreed in writing first. You will not be asked to pay to submit a profile, to be considered for a role or to be placed.
