What direct hire means
In a direct hire, the person you hire becomes your employee on day one. We do the sourcing, screening and introductions. You make the offer and run payroll, benefits and onboarding.
You employ them
No agency payroll and no markup on hourly wages.
We do the search
Sourcing, interviews, credential checks and a shortlist.
You decide
Interview who you like and hire who you like.
Direct hire compared with the other models
Each service fits a different need. Pick the one that matches your vacancy.
Direct hire
A permanent vacancy. You employ the person, and the fee is a placement fee agreed in writing before the search starts.
Contract and relief
Gaps, leaves and surges. We arrange the worker and you pay an hourly rate for the time worked.

How a direct hire search works
- Intake callWe confirm the role, unit, shifts, required registration, must-haves and offer range.
- SearchWe source from our candidate database, job postings and direct outreach. Candidates consent to being submitted.
- ScreeningPhone screen, work history review, reference checks, and registration checks with the provincial or territorial regulator.
- ShortlistYou receive a short list with a summary of each person. Candidates are introduced only with their consent.
- Offer and startYou interview, offer and onboard. We stay in touch with both sides through the first weeks.
For candidates: you submit your profile, we talk about what you want, and we introduce you only to employers you agree to. Free for candidates. Always. We are paid by the facility.
Registration and credential checks
Health professionals in Canada are regulated by province. We check that a candidate is registered with the right college or regulator before we present them, and we ask for proof of any specialty certification the job needs, such as BLS or ACLS. Your facility still carries its own onboarding and credentialing duty. We verify; we do not guarantee outcomes.
See how we verify credentials for the full checklist.
Fees and terms
Direct hire is normally billed as a placement fee, not an hourly rate. We agree the fee and all other terms in writing before the search starts, so you know what to expect before any work begins. We do not publish a rate card here because terms depend on the role and volume.
Free for candidates. Always. In British Columbia, the Employment Standards Act prohibits charging job seekers for finding work, and we charge candidates nothing in any province.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between direct hire and contract staffing?
In a direct hire, the person becomes your employee and the arrangement is a placement fee agreed in writing. In contract staffing, we arrange the worker for a defined assignment and you pay an hourly rate for the time they work. Direct hire suits permanent vacancies, while contract suits leaves, gaps and surges.
Do candidates pay anything?
No. Free for candidates. Always. The facility pays for our service, and we agree those terms with the facility in writing before the search starts. You will never be asked for money to be considered for a permanent role, to be introduced to an employer, or to receive information about one.
How long does a direct hire search take?
It depends on the role, the location and the registration needed. Some roles are scarce and some regions are harder to recruit in. We give an honest estimate at intake and we do not promise a date. If the search looks difficult as scoped, we tell you early so you can adjust.
What if the hire does not work out?
Any terms that apply if a hire does not work out are agreed in writing before the search begins, so nothing is left to assumption. Ask about this at intake and we will walk you through exactly what is covered before you decide whether to proceed with the search.
Can you hire internationally educated nurses for us?
Candidates must be registered with the relevant provincial or territorial regulator to work in a regulated role. Where a candidate is still moving through that process, we tell you exactly where they are, so you can decide whether the timing works for your vacancy and your unit.
